Fuse at Mason Square

The Next System Studies program at Fuse stems in part from the Next System Project, a grassroots initiative by The Democracy Collaborative. The project takes a deep and bold look at addressing challenges the U.S. faces now, and will face in the future, as a result of the intersection of systems formed around race, economy, technology, climate, and ecology.

Fuse at Mason Square, currently under construction in the heart of the Rosslyn-Ballston corridor, will be a new innovation destination uniting scholars, students, researchers, and policy and business developers, working together to accelerate the pace of change and solve our grand challenges. With that in mind, architect Rob McClure, of the firm Page, said the core of the building was designed to feel like a Main Street.

More than 150 faculty and graduate students from George Mason University’s 10 schools and colleges got together in the Hub on Friday, February 3, to chat about artificial intelligence (AI).

Mason's data analytics engineering program plans to scale up its presence at Mason Square in Arlington in the coming years.  

The College of Engineering and Computing is offering many new classes at Mason Square in Arlington this year, including courses for the Graduate Certificate in Naval Ship Design.

On Jan. 9, over 400 students from five counties and 22 high schools came together at Mason for CyberSlam 2023, to get hands-on learning about opportunities in cybersecurity. The huge gathering was deemed a state affair, as interest in CyberSlam increased significantly from last year.

Mason alum’s gift to the College of Engineering and Computing creates Dean’s Technology Innovation Fund

U.S. Senator Tim Kaine (D-Va.) was the special guest for the Schar School of Policy and Government’s first Master’s of Public Policy Bistro event of the semester Sept. 12.

Mason’s Division of Enrollment Management has expanded in-person service through the Mason Student Services Center to Mason Square (formerly the Arlington Campus).

George Mason University officially welcomed a new era in Arlington with Wednesday’s groundbreaking ceremony for Fuse at Mason Square, which will serve as a technological hub in the Rosslyn-Ballston corridor connecting students, faculty, industry and government.
